CHICAGO FED SEES SEPTEMBER UNEMPLOYMENT AT 4.1% The Chicago Fed estimates the U.S. unemployment rate at 4.10% in September, slightly below August’s 4.14%. The improvement reflects better hiring prospects for unemployed workers and slightly lower separations. Friday’s jobs report is expected to show unemployment at 4.1% for a third straight month.
